Devin D. Thorpe (e-mail), father of one son, Dayton Gray Thorpe, and husband to one wife, Gail Gray Thorpe, maintains this web page primarily as a gateway to his family history.
Devin writes about the family history for all of his son’s ancestors, primarily from the vantage point of Dayton’s maternal grandparents, Sallie Jean Wyant and Richard Velsa Gray, and his paternal great-grandparents, Marian Bricker and Charles Reid Bird, and Phyllis Ednal Dayton and Ward Rasmus Thorpe.
Most of the ancestors are of English or Danish ancestry, with some French and German ancestry mixed into Gail's ancestry.
Devin is also the Managing Director of USTAR's Technology Outreach and Innovation Program. Previously, he was the Managing Director of the Thorpe Capital Group, which he founded in March of 2000. The Thorpe Capital Group is a financial advisory firm, serving the Intermountain West. Prior experience includes a two-year assignment on the staff of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee in Washington D.C. He also spent five years in commercial and mortgage banking.
Devin earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah and his M.B.A. from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
In May 2006, Devin was recognized by the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah as a "Distinguished Alumnus" in recognition of his business accomplishments and service to the school. In 2005, Devin received the Hearts & Hands Award from the Utah Society of Fund Raisers.
